Message You're absolutely right...integrity is key in a place of business...and dishonest shops and shady mechanics certainly are not OK. But like someone already mentioned, it's not like the shop took the car out on a Ferris Bueller style Ferrari run...catching air off speed bumps and drifting behind the local Toys R Us. If the dealership did have to legitimately take the Z on a test drive to ensure the repairs were done right...whether it be to check alignment or repaired IC piping...what's so wrong about hitting boost? After all, it is just a car...not your first born. Does this make it OK for employees to abuse cars, NO. Do I think it deserves contacting an insurance company, NO. However, if mfergus requested that his car NOT be test driven...then I would raise hell.

Sorry...when I made the comment about "doing your own work"...I thought he was having mechanical repairs done at the dealership...not body work...my bad. Thanks for pointing that out. And thanks for the reply...I honestly love reading your posts because you're one of the most most level-headed, tell-it-like-it-is kind of guys on the forum when it comes to trends in society, politics, morals, etc. Always a pleasure and thank you for your service. :)
